Apple & Samsung Beat Nokia at Smartphone Market - Already about 15 years Nokia debuted as a producer of the largest smart phone or smartphone universal. But now, they must be willing to abdicate overtaken by Apple and Samsung.

Notes from Strategy Analytics says Nokia now occupies third position in the smartphone segment in the second quarter of 2011. In the first place was Apple, followed by Samsung.

Nokia dominates the smartphone market since 1996. But intense pressure from rivals making the Finnish mobile phone vendor is finally toppled.

According to Strategy Analytic, Apple sold 20.3 million iPhones in quarter 2 2011. While Samsung sold 19 million smartphones, Nokia is followed by the number of sales of 16.7 million units.

Quoted by Reuters on Saturday (30/07/2011), Strategy Analytics recorded total sales of handsets in the quarter reached 361 million. The growth of the smartphone market reached 76% than the previous year.

Overall, Nokia is still the world's number one mobile phone vendor. In the smartphone market they may keteteran, but still quite strong in the feature phone market.
